At the Electrical Industry Awards 2006, held in The Great Room, Grosvenor House, in London's Park Lane, Socket & See, a division of the leading electrician's tools and test instruments manufacturer, The Kew Technik Group, won Test and Measurement Product of the Year with its incredibly popular Multifunction Part P, PDL 234 Plus Loop Tester.

As with all Socket & See testers, the instrument is great value for money, easy to use and conforms to all relevant industry standards. This 4 in 1 instrument, tests loop, mains voltage, correct wiring and correct polarity and comes with patented no-trip loop test technology. It is fully protected against accidental phase-to-phase connection and provides accurate mains voltage measurement to the latest BS 7697, HD 472 51.

The judges felt that the Kew Technik PDL 234 Plus, was a deserved winner as it provides an effective solution when measuring earth loop impedance, not only for the qualified electrician but also for allied trades. The PDL 234 was noted for its ease of use, unique safety features, accuracy of measurement and compact size.

The PDL 234 is the instrument of choice for many electricians and those working in allied trades. To illustrate this, British Gas has distributed a version of the instrument to over 8,000 gas fitters.

A cut above the rest

Kew Technik, has risen to new heights with the sponsorship of a hot air balloon.

Emblazoned with the Kew Technik and Socket & See logos our balloon is now being seen in skies all over the UK as a reminder to the industry that exciting new products are shortly to be launched.
